Re-generating a lost marker

Post by lschutz »

Hello,

In a gait trial, one of the high priority markers for data analysis fell off the subject. In past experience with a competing motion capture system, a feature was available for generating a "virtual marker" based off of spatial relationship to several nearby markers. I have been reading the motive wiki page, but I am not seeing an equivalent feature. Is such a feature available with this system? If not, are there any suggestions for coping with this problem beyond using bonemarkers for analysis?

Hi Lauren,

I think what you are looking for is the gap filling tool.

If you use the pattern fill, this will be like what you described.

Cheers,
Steven

Hi Steven,

Will that work if the marker remains missing through the end of the trial? Also it is a period of time > 1 minute.

Hi Lauren,

If you are using the current version of Motive, I believe you should be able to fill the gap even if it goes until the end of the Take. This used to not work in older versions of Motive but has been fixed.
The length of the gap should be ok as well; just make sure you set the Max Gap Size high enough to compensate for the length of the gap.

Cheers,
Steven
