Edit Rigid body after data recording

Post by Jay01 »

Is there anyway to change the rigid body's pivot or orientation after recording? and how?
In Edit Layout (after recording and open it) I could see the rigid body and select it.
However, unlike editing it before recording, on recorded data, Pivot or Orientation on the Edit Tab changes only markers but not Rigid body it self.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Jay01,

When Rigid Body data is recorded, the data in the Take will already be solved.
Because of the way this solved data currently works, moving the pivot point in Edit Mode looks a bit confusing. This is because the pivot point will move back to its solved position while moving its marker definitions to the offsets that were just created.

If you right-click on the Rigid Body and choose to solve it again, the pivot point will move to the correct new location.

To get around this confusion, you may want to put Motive into 2D Mode while editing the pivot point.

While in 2D Mode, Motive will continually re-process the 2D data into 3D, showing the correct pivot point location as you edit it.
After editing the pivot, just be sure to turn 2D Mode off, and solve the Rigid Body to update the recorded data.

I hope this helps. If you need any further assistance, please feel free to reach out to us directly.

Best,
Steven
