Streaming for HMD in Unity

Post by MangoGott »

I'm currently working on my thesis, which revolves around streaming tracking data from Motive to an Oculus Quest. I've successfully streamed the skeletal data, making it possible to look a the actor in the HMD. However, my next goal is to try and view the virtual world from the character's first-person perspective. I'm following the following tutorial: https://v21.wiki.optitrack.com/index.ph ... :HMD_Setup
but it seems some options are missing. I'm guessing my version (Motive 1.9) is too old.

Is it possible to accomplish my goal with the current version?

Thanks,
Greetings from Sweden!

Hello MangoGott,

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your HMD streaming questions. Motive 1.9 is quite old, and before we had completed integration for the Unity plugin.

You may be able to stream the HMD and use it as a rigid body in Unity, but the setup in Motive will be different since none of the current tools were present in 1.9. This, also, may not integrate as well as with our current versions of Motive.

Since the HMD calibration tools did not exist in 1.9, you will need to follow the steps for manually setting the pivot point of the HMD.
