Control Motive via Remote Desktop (rdesktop)

Hi,
we are running Motive 2.2 on a Windows PC that is connected to our Prime 13W cameras setup. When logging in to this machine, everything works as expected. Motive finds all connected cameras, and calibration/tracking also works.
However, when trying to access the Windows PC from a Ubuntu based system via rdesktop, Motive cannot find any cameras.
This used to work without any problems on Motive 1.7. Was there any change in the newer Motive versions, that would explain this behavior?
Can I give you any more information that would help you to better narrow down the problem?
