Skeleton bodies are not aligned in unity as in motive

Post by desmond13 »

hi, I would like to visualize in Unity3D the skeleton as it is visualized in Motive.

Something like that:
maxresdefault.jpg
maxresdefault.jpg (80.66 KiB) Viewed 1439 times
However, when I stream to Unity3D the pose of the different limbs of the skeleton seems that the limbs are not well aligned. Does Motive do some sort of estimation of the relative position/orientation of the limbs BUT only streams the raw center of mass of the limbs and their orientation out?

Could anyone help me with this? Is it supposed to be straightforward or not?

Thanks in advance.

Hello desmond13,

Thanks for reaching out to the community regarding the Unity retargeting.

Motive streams the skeleton exactly as it is, so all of the position and rotations values should match. That, unfortunately, does not mean you will see the same result in Unity. If you check our documentation regarding the Unity retargeting, we describe how Mecanim can offset skeletons.

There may be a better retargeting plugin for Unity out there, but for the default mecanim this just tends to be a common issue.
I hope this helps to describe what you are seeing.

Best,
Steven
