Motive 3.X exported duplicated rigidbody data

Post by ken »

Hello,

We had tested to track high speed ball movements in baseball pitching under Motive 3.0 beta 3 and PrimeX series camera (PrimeX 22 x 4 + PrimeX 13 x 3 + PrimeX 13W x 3,) with 1 kHz. However, Motive often exported duplicated rigid body data especially during high velocity movement. Since such duplication does not happened in slow movement, it seems like that this phenomenon strongly related to ball velocity and spinning rotation.

Motive 2.X has rich application setting parameters for Reconstruction and RigidBody properties to prevent such phenomenon such as “Jump prevention”. However, such parameters seem to disappeared in Motive 3.0. We also executed “Reconstruct and Solve and Auto-label” and this does not help.

I would appreciate any advice on how to solve this issue under Motive 3.0.

Thanks.

Hi Ken,

Thanks for sharing your experience with the community.

When tracking faster movements you may need to increase the 3D Threshold, found in the Live Pipeline settings. When this is left at its default, fast movement can cause the trajectories to break.

This will likely explain what you are seeing if this only occurs during fast movements. If you continue to struggle with this feel free to reach out to our Support team directly and to share a recording (.tak).

Cheers,
Steven
