That's a tech demo someone made and gave to us.
full 6DOF but only in certain vehicles, and - this tech demo cannot be used in multiplayer (it gets punkbusted). (so don't get too excited?)

I haven't had any luck yet establishing contact with project reality modders. Might be possible for them to implement. But not clear if they'd be willing to put in a feature that gets punkbusted.

if you'd suggest anyone in particular to contact at the Reality mod, please let me know! (or feel free to pursue yourself)

You can PM me here or on realitymod.com.

Need more details about the Punkbusted aspects. Doubt we'd disable Punkbuster for TrackIR support, but wonder if there's a way to avoid that, yet still get the benefits of it.

Look forward to hearing from you.

If the changes were integrated into every client and server would Punkbuster still notice them? Wouldn't that change his reference of what the correct hash would be?

Eggman,
sent you a pm. Thanks for your interest!

Spearhead, i honesly don't know. Would certainly be cool. But i expect this will go down as an interesting example, not as the community adding widespread features to the game.

we'll see! more later.

excellent! hopefully the PB problem will not be insurmountable, If anyone can get it to work i'm 100% confident that the coders behind the reality mod are the team to get the job done - (unless the effect is achieved by some 3rd party app that PB don't like). What they have done with the BF2 Engine is nothing short of amazing! so i'll be keeping my Fingers crossed! - seeing that video with the 6dof in BF2 made me as excited as a kid at Christmas lol..

I totally agree. Having TrackIR in BF2 would be just awesome.I am using Logitech Extreme 3D Pro in BF2 and it works great when flying choppers and jets in BF2.I am then thinking of having TrackIR when flying the choppers and jets..That would just be awesome. I love to fly in BF2 and if we can have TrackIR when flying choppers and jets would be a dream come true. I recently just got my TrackIR 4 Pro and I am loving it.Next on my list is a G25

Instructions for how to do it are listed at the end of the video.

It's rather simple really, he's using BF2's mouselook button with TrackIR's mouse emulator.

The most obvious issue I notice from the video is that he cannot control the aircraft and look around at the same time. It doesn't seem to be worth the trouble unless you really think looking with TrackIR is easier than using the mouse.

Maybe naturalpoint can contact dice again, this because recently dice announced a 1.5 (beta) patch to be released soon!

And these modders are waiting for the 1.5 patch to arrive:

I've been in contact with Dice about getting in the new patch. Nothing new to report, as of yet. Feel free to chime in as well, via forums or emails.
