Using the 6DOF TrackIR system, wouldnt it technically be possible to build a virtual gun that works in all games (rather than a light gun like eDimensionals)...
By tracking the movement of your arm holding a device, it could simulate mouse movement in game. Surely it would be a little tough and sensitive at first, but after some tweaking, you could get it to work nicely.
Add wireless support from a cheapo-mouse, remap the button to a trigger in a squirt-gun shell, and you have a virtual shooter...
Should work eh? Those tracking rings could even be used. When moving your arms in an aiming fashion, it could tell supported games to zoom in and such.
