Hrmmm. Thanks for the feedback, might go to Bethesda's forums and get a bunch of ppl to keep bugging them about this. lol. I was going to ask whether you guys have/are going to get in contact with the developers for Tom Clancy's upcoming flight game "H.A.W.X". This looks like another perfect game that would greatly benefit from TrackIR. And I was also wondering whether their were any updates on Counter-Strike integrating TrackIR? Well keep up the good works guys, all your guy's hard work really shows!

Sounds good, SileNcer. :)

The HAWX devs (Ubisoft) are actually checking out the TrackIR code right about now (I think sometime this week). I can't guarantee that we'll be in, but they're going to test it out and try to find a place for TrackIR. Things are looking pretty good on that front.

Counter-Strike will almost certainly never get TrackIR implementation. The primary issue is that Valve's engines have, historically, not had an aiming mechanism in place. Instead, their aim is actually just a simple derivation of the center point of the view. This makes separating view from aim tricky. It is *possible* to code in an aiming mechanism, to make TrackIR implementation a reality. I believe this was done for the Insurgency mod. However, because CS is a pretty old title, it doesn't have any significant developer-side support anymore. The kind of undertaking that would be required isn't something that Valve is interested in tackling on a game that, though still popular among players, is no longer a high priority for their dev team.

Sounds Good. It's really good to hear Ubisoft is looking at it. Here's hoping! Also tnx for the update on Counter-Strike, not to disappointing though because insurgency beats counter-strike in realism any day of the week. Keep us informed on HAWX plz, would like to find what happens. :) THanks.

I really would hope u guys talk to Valve about Left 4 Dead because its created a lot of buzz and im sure valve would listen. Also Company of heroes is coming out with another expansion so give THQ a call or something see if u can sneak TIR in there.

I've chatted with a couple of the Valve guys about getting TrackIR in L4D, or any Valve game for that matter. They have actually been very receptive to the technology in general, but thus far, none of their games have been particularly friendly to our SDK. The way Valve typically constructs their aiming, viewing, and art asset management just happens to be the least desirable (from a TrackIR perspective) across the board. We're going to continue to discuss future implementations with them, but Left 4 Dead provided too large of an implementation challenge for them to make it work within their time frame. Source is a great engine, but it needs some tweaks before it will play nice with TrackIR. :)

RTS is a tough pitch, even though implementation is usually a breeze. I'll hit up the THQ guys again, and see what they think.

TrackIR support request for Moto GP 08 / SBK 08

Hi,

I am pretty new here and mostly interested in flightsims. Another hobby of mine is motorbike simulations and I think TrackIR would real increase the immersion factors for motorbike race simulations.

Right now there are two new ones on the market: Moto GP 08 and SBK 08, both by the same developer Black Beans(but different publishers). These would really benefit from TrackIR, on one side for looking into corners, watching the competion and on the other side for ducking behind windshield for acceleration and coming up for braking.

What do you think ?

Perhaps it could even be made to affect the balance, like when you lean down the side of the bike in a corner, so moving your head to the side, would make your biker character lean over like that?!

Interesting idea, Crewecut. I like it. Phispooky, I've got an email out to the devs, so we're just waiting to hear if they're interested in the technology. :)

Just wanted to mention that on Ubisoft's HAWX website forums, it states that they have confirmed that TrackIR will indeed be available in their upcoming game "Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X." I personally think it should be pretty fun to play w/ the TrackIR.

-Read the update post, it's at the end of GKane's 2nd post.

Hi! I'm new, just bought TrackIR 4 Pro, the clip and the cap today. :)

Before boughting I was wondering would this support it, but not yet I saw after installing product..

I'd like to have support for World of Warcraft, I don't know would it be possible but I think it would be nice to turn camera with head so mouse would be more free for using skills from the action bars. Sometimes it's pretty hard to use all skills from keyboard since it has so much different skills.

-Thank you.
