Umm that is a really difficult question to answer diplomatically
I would say go for the IL2 Forgotten Battlles for 2 main reasons.
1) I like it (blow diplomacy )
2) It is possible to get it on budget so you are not risking a load of $

It looks like the choice is between Aces High 2, Battle of Britain 2 or Combat Flight Simulator 3...

just installed Combat Flight Sim 3, but when I start it, but nothing but the big load image of the pilot comes up.
The mouse reacts very slow, and that's it.

Best "action" Flight Sim
After getting my TrackIR, and discovering how amercing it is in racing sim like GTR, I would like to try it in a flight sim.
The problem is that the flight sims that I have tried over the last couple of years haven�t really captured me. The last great flight �sim� that captured me was F29 Retaliator and the old Red Baron.
Every sim that I�ve tried after hasn�t really been any fun.
Latest sim I have tried:
- B17 - The Mighty Eighth (great sim. Realy fun to control the different crew positions, but very difficult to get the hang of all the controls)
- Combat Flight Simulator 3
- Flight Simulator 2004 (really boring imo)
- IL
So, what is the best action flight sim out right now?

Can't say you're missing anything in CFS3. ITs a horrible game. vector is pointless because the damn site reticle is a TEXTURE. That means that when you move your head, the gunsite stays in the same place... its almost impossible to shoot anyone down unless you press f12 right before you fire and don't move your head in the slightest.
