DLP or rear projection tv

anyone playing this game on a new dlp or rear proj. Tv im having a hard time getting this game to work with proper resolutions on my sony 50a2000. its a 1080p tv

You have to set the width and height explicitely in the config.ini.
I quote from the FAQ on www.airwarfare.com:

"Can I play IL2 on my 16:9 Widescreen TV?
As an example, a 16:9 widescreen with a native resolution of 1366x768:

Open up conf.ini and put replace the section titled "[window]" with these settings:

height=768
ColourBits=32
DepthBits=24
StencilBits=8
ChangeScreenRes=0
FullScreen=1

Just open your conf.ini and change the values behind the width and height to the values of your tv/projector.
