Gentlemen,
I've just had an embarassing problem that I resolved once I remembered what was what.
I had installed the whole "Team Super Hornet" patch set, as described elsewhere on this website, per the instructions. Everything seemed perfect. Except, when running with the "TrackIR" checkbox checked, the interface between the TIR and the FA-18 program seemed to be ... well, unbearably slow and "chunky."
There's a simple reason for this, and a simple fix. While FA-18 as patched will work fine in XP, it really SHOULD be run (regardless of patch state) with the "Windows 98 Compatibility Fix" selected.
All I had to do...after spending several hours of my vacation time today pulling out my hair... was do that, and the program is running smooth as silk under XP.
I hope that this little reminder saves other folks from the same problem.
