Runtime error
Runtime error
I get the error message periodically in games and sometimes just at the screen.
It makes playing the thing pretty hard.
Any help will be appreciated.
Oh I suppose you would want my OS which is MS XP home. I am using a Dell Dimension 4600 P4 2.8 gig box, 1 gig of Ram, not sure of the MB (should look that up) but have USB 2.0 support for it.

Re: Runtime error
Ditto, getting the same error. Got it in both IL2 Forgotten Battles and FS2004. This is using 3.01 with a TIR 1 model. Serial number 005706 if that helps narrow it down.
Re: Runtime error
YET ANOTHER MAJOR EDIT:
How about this, have you guys clicked on the "Remeber Mode on Startup" radio button? If so, is it saved to enhanced? Try reinstalling 3.01 and not selecting the option or not starting in enhaced mode and see what happens.
Also please post your system specs, wwsensi, I think this maybe related Hyperthreading being enabled. I have an Intel 2.6 ghz 800 mhz FSb with HT turned on.
Please, can you guys give your TrackIR something to track and then click on the "tracking" page to see if you have an extra tracking page to the upper left side of the 3.01 software?

Yes, using the save mode button and enhanced mode.
System Specs:
Dell 8250 P4 3.06 GHz with Hyperthreading turned on.
1 Gig Ram.
Windows XP Pro, ATI 9700 Pro using Omega 3.7 drivers (based on Cat 3.7). All appropriate XP patches applied. DX 9.0b.
Will try not having it remember the mode and see if that helps. Due to other software I have running on the system turning off Hyperthreading is not an option.
{EDIT} Yes, getting the double window. Didn't notice it before because I have a black background and the green dot just so happened to land right on a green icon. :-/

BTW, if you haven't done my suggested reinstall, don't waste your time, it's not a work around. It seems to be a HT problem until an AMD or non HT guy says otherwise. You might try running 3.01 with single process affinity. If you don't know how to do that just ask and I'll post it.

Re: Runtime error
Same Runtime error here. P4 2.8, Abit Mobo, 800 FSB, 9800 Pro 128 MB, Audigy 2, 1 Gig PC 3200 Ram, Windows XP Home. All fresh install w/updated drivers.
And yes I have extra tracking page to the upper left side of the 3.01 software.
TrackIR crashes (after a few minutes) both when running by itself and when IL2 FB is running.
I suppose I have HT but I don't know a damn thing about it. Just bought all this crap so I wouldn't have problems.
Help, I have the next two days off.
Thanks.

Re: Runtime error
UPDATE:
Turned off remembering the mode. Still got the double window but was able to play an entire hour long mission in FB without crash by waiting until in game to switch to enhanced mode.
Will continue to test today.

Thanks. How to set the 3.01 Affinity to a single CPU: To set Affinity, run 3.01 and hit ctrl+alt+del, go to the processes tab if it isn't already, right click on the Naturalpont, click on the Set Affinity option and uncheck CPU 1. You'll have to do this everytime you start 3.01, or turning off HT completelty should be an potion in the BIOS, but it will have an effect on performance.
Also try turning of the the "Remember mode at Startup" option in the motion page. It seemed to work for a little bit for me and wwsensei says it works for him. Let me know what works for you so we can have as many fixes to this as possible.

Will continue to test today.Wow that's great! When I suggested it, it seemed to have an effect for awhile on how long I could play but then the crash came back. Please keep me posted if this is a good work around.
I'm not a windows programer, but setting 3.01 to only use 1 CPU does fix the double tacking window and seems so far to fix the C++ runtime crash.

Re: Runtime error
Do you all happen to have the TrackIR plugged into a USB 2.0 port?
If so, try a 1.1.
I have never received this error so it is new to me. But I have always had issues with the TIR 1 or TIR 2 plugged into a 2.0 USB port.

Re: Runtime error
Good piece of advice Charlie, but I don't have any 1.1 ports on my motherboard the more people post in ths and other thread, it seems to be at least a HT issue icne on guys who have Intel CPUs have this error, but it could be the combination of 2.0 and HT.
