Key Mapping to my Joystick?

Post by iannkt78 »

I recieved my Trackir 2 yesterday and absolutely love it. It does take some time to get used to it but I dont think I can go back. I have a question about key mapping.

I have a Microsoft Precision 2 and I tried mapping the center key on my joystick and it didnt work. Maybe I was doing something wrong or maybe it wont register. Does anybody have any ideas?

You cannot map keys directly to your joystick.

You need to set your hotkey for your TrackIR commands to a keyboard key. Then use your joystick software to map that same keyboard key to one of your buttons.

Same problem here with MSPP-2.

The bad thing is that I can't install MS Game Controll Software, because it's only certified for Win9x/ME, but I'm using Win2k-SP4.

When I try to install, it tells me that I my OS is not supported I also tried to run it under win98 compatibility mode, setup starts now, but then tells me that DirectX cannot be initialized.....and so setup can't be continued.

If any1 knows how to get MS Game Controll workin' under Win2k, or another Keymapping-Utility for MSPP-2, pls reply.
