Anyone mount the TrackIR2 on an LCD monitor?

Post by Scythe »

I've tried various wire clips, silicon, tape, velcro, etc. and it still falls off.

Are there any clips that will hold it on top of the monitor?

What I did was mount a small self behind the monitor and it worked for me.

Yeah, I tried to use those, but it kept falling off.
(It was fine until I'd come to my computer the next day and find the TIR2 on the desk with the clips still attached.)

I fixed it today by using 3M mounting tape. I have the black rubber feet hanging over the front (back of the feet touch the monitor case) and put a small (1x1cm) piece of the mounting tape under the back leg where it "rests" on the top of the monitor.

Tape claims to hold up to 2lbs. It's working great so far. Thanks for the replies.

I always take the Trackir off after I use it and I've only had to replace 1 clip in the past month.

I have mounted my TrackIR ontop of a fresnel lense, which is around 4 mm thick . I used two pliers and bent the metal foot, so that it sits perfectly tight on that lense.
