Logitech Cordless Desktop MX

Post by Reinhard »

Hi everyone from Germany!

I'd like to know if there are any issues known concerning problems between Logitech Cordless Desktop MX (with mouse MX 700) and TrackIR2.

Every second or third time I start my computer, the mouse pointer (or ist arrow/ cursor the right word?) is in the centre of the monitor and doesn't move. Same after every restart of computer. I then have to press the restart button of my PC and then the problem is away (mostly).

I deinstalled all software of logitech and used original microsoft XP drivers and no problem occured (until now).

As I can't find similar problems being described in the support area of logitech, I thought of TrackIR causing the problem, as it somehow "controlls" mouse function. I phoned Logitech support, but they had no idea.

Has anyone here? Please.

Greetings Reinhard

I have a same mouse as you MX700 and I have never had a promblem with it and my Track IR 1 or 2 unit. So maybe it something else or a faulty MX700.

What happens when you get the promblem if you hit the connect button under the mouse, try that it may work without haveing to reboot.

Thanks, Hotdognz!

Seems to be a driver problem. Has got nothing to do with connection problems. Already tried this (and all other reset proposals concerning the hardware and connection), no solution.

Somehow seems to me, as if the software of Logitech is not loaded correctly, as sometimes the keyboard setting-tabs are on "standard" (only two register cards appear and not five or six as are normal). As I've got a 3,0 GhZ Pentium which is very fast in booting I thought of the booting speed as a cause? Don't know, never had problems before with my old (slower) PC and Logitech.

As I said, thanks anyway!

Reinhard,

I have not heard of any issues between the TrackIR2 and Logitech Cordless Desktop MX and mouse MX 700.

Are you running the latest drivers from Logitech? I will have a look at this as I have a MX 700 at home, but dont remember it ever causing any problems.

What happens if you connect a normal PS2 or USB mouse to the system, does this make a difference? Are you using a hub to connect your USB devices?

Running an MX Desktop here together with a TrackIR2 and both work fine together.

I use the media keys on the keyboard for control of the TrackIR
