I just purchased TrackIR2 for use with FS2004. When loading the FS2004 profile, I'm finding that I can only turn about half of the total possible view left or right. When I get to a certain point on the right the view freezes and then I'm looking at the ceiling spinning around.
Two points:
1) How do I adjust things so that when I get to the edges the view will swing quite rapidly to the right or left (as appropriate to the direction I'm turning)?
2) A suggestion: for FS2004 at any rate, when you reach an edge of where the dot can be tracked, and the user has been turning right, you should probably adjust the field of view 90 degree right or more. It's not reasonable to default the view to the ceiling. Likewise if I reach end of view on the left side, you could shift to a 270 degree view on the left side. That would make the default behavior much more reasonable to a flight simulator.
Cannot Turn Far Right or Left
Re: Cannot Turn Far Right or Left
Westes,
It sounds as if the unit is loosing the dot that it is using to track.
When in the tracking screen set the green dot roughly in the center of the screen, but do this in the position that you will play the game. If it’s not in the center then move the camera.
Check that you do not have any unwanted reflections on the tracking screen.
I will try and answer your two questions for you.
1) Do you mean that you wish to continue to turn after you have reached the edges of the screen? This can be achieved with “auto panning”, but this mode is not possible when in “Absolute” mode.
2) You should be able to reach the 270 degree view quite easily. It sounds like your profile needs to be increased slightly especially on the 40 and 50 of your edit points. If these are low you will have not enough head movement to reach behind you before the unit looses sight of the dot, and of course you would have no movement until the unit can see the dot once again.
Please let me know if you are still having problems with your profile.

Re: Cannot Turn Far Right or Left
Can you please give me literal instructions on what steps to take after loading the FS2004 profile to achieve what you are describing?
