Another green screen

Post by AirPerra »

I have copied this post from a thread I added to a few days ago. Maybe if it's a new thread, someone might have a fix for me. If not, the product is shipping back.

"I bought my Track IR3 Pro the other day, had it shipped over here from the states, but it didn't work. My trackingscreen was all green.

I read this thread at work, and got home eagerly expecting my completely green screen to go away.

No such luck.

I have tried connecting and disconnecting with and without the software running, and the screen is still as green as Central Park.

DOD?

Sincerely, Air

EDIT: I tried to uninstall and reinstall again. I do get one "bugreport" when I do this. When the uninstaller asks if you want to clean your usb reg settings, and I press yes, there is a setting that cannot be reset/removed in the following folder:

SYSTEM\CurrentCOntrolSet\Enum\USB\Vid_131D&PID_0155

Dunno if this is important, but the trackingscreen is still all green after the reinstall. The only time I get any "response" in the screen at all is when I play around with the dotsize and camera sliders ... Red and black flickering on the screen, then back to complete green.

EDIT:
Still waiting for an answer on this ...
Just wanted to clarify:

Yes, I am running the latest software, downloaded from the supportsection about a week ago.
No, I am not using a hub of any kind
No, trackIR does not run at startup
Yes, all the lights are working on the unit
Yes, the program reads "tracking" and shows no sighn of malfunction.

I think this products promised excellence is worth making a personal effort with regards to fixing. I most definitely think this product is expensive enough to expect a response to a malfunction like this.

Since I posted over a weekend, I am willing to wait for an answer, but not for an eternity."

Air,

I am sorry if I missed your post on an earlier thread, just every now and again, one of them slips through.

The key that you were unable to delete is because you have connected to more than one port, and XP wont forget.

If you connect to each of the ports that you have connected to and un-install the USB driver while in the Device Manager this should remove that key.

Carry out a complete un-install/re-install, but before you re-install delete the NaturalPoint folder on your C Drive if one remains, and then let me know how you get on then we can go from there after a complete install.

Ok, that makes sense.

I just got some new hardware from CH products, and I switched around abit, and removed a hub i did not want to use, since both you and CH suggest not using hubs.

I am gonna do this as soon as I can. Able to wait for a couple of days for the results? I am just swamped at work, and don't know if I'll have time to do it until a day or two from now.

Sincerely, Air

I am going to try the install reinstall before I send it back to you. If i understand correctly, I'll have to install/uninstall the software until i find the USB port I used when first installing, so that there is no errormessage when "cleaning" usb settings for the unit, correct?

I did try the camera on my laptop, just to check, and the screen was still green.

I will get to this hopefully during the weekend, and if I can't work this out, I will contact you via mail as you spoke about in the original thread.

Sincerely,
Air
