How to edit .tir-files in an ASCII-editor?

Post by DonULFonso »

Howdy, Naturalpoint-team,

this question o' mine may seem a lil' weird at 1st but it ain't IMHO:

The TrackIR's .tir-files basically are plain-text ASCII-files and can be opened and viewed with any according editor. There, a .tir-file looks something like this (without line-feed):

120,15,15,0,0,1,1,0,1,60,0,
3.000000,4.000000,7.000000,10.000000,18.000000,21.000000,23.000000,32.000000,32.000000,
3.000000,4.000000,7.000000,10.000000,18.000000,21.000000,23 .000000,32.000000,32.000000,
1,1,1,1,2,15,3,15,1,1,1,1,1,0,1,1,0,0,91,92,96,111,0,110,118,91,92,0,0,0,0,65,,0,
English,WarBirds 3 (X-Files).tir,1,,1,0,0,25,0,0,1,0,0,1,0,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,100,1,0,

I suppose that some numbers must be the edit-points, others their according values, and some must be codes for the hot-keys and their mode (toggled, trapped, etc.); then there's the name of the profile plus an optional explanation/comment.

Now I am interested in getting to know what's what? Is there any info available I could take a look at?

The reason why I ask is that I, personally, find it 'easier' to modify a text-file via an editor than to adjust the settings via the TrackIR's GUI. (Please bear with me: I program my Cougar via a plain-text editor, too, instead of the included application - it's just way more flexible this way, IMHO, at least for me .)

Any info appreciated, and TIA!
