Delay between tracked dot and head movement

Post by 42nd_Bird »

I have an annoying problem. In the camera window I see continuous tracking but the head movement (likewise in LOMAC and PF) is jamming. There is a huge delay between my head movement and the simulated movement. And it is jumping into the required position. What should I do to solve this problem?

Bird do you have a HOTAS?
If you do is it plugged into a hub along with your TIR?

If so can you try having the HOTAS and TIR in seperate ports on your PC.

Actually, my problem solved. I reinstalled the driver, and now it's ok.
I have a Cougar, but I don't use usb hub. All of my usb devices plugged into different places of my pc.
Thank you for your advice!

My pleasure was too early. After some minutes of playing it started over again.
In the camera window the tracked dot is flashing in green/white. What does it mean?

Hi Barred,

I red this topic
http://forums.naturalpoint.com/cgi-bin/ ... 4;t=000328
and I have a question. I'm wearing glasses too. But I set the light filter to the maximum, because of my shiny glasses, that glints the screen of my monitor.
Do you think that this is the cause of my problem? I mean, the extremely filtered tracking?

Hi Bird,
turning on the light filtering might help.
I have mine set to 90 at the moment, but according to the manual it is not advisable to go above 200.

I have to alter mine as the year changes because of a whopping great pane of glass that I have as a window, so I run 2 profiles (not at the same time ) one for when the window blinds are oopen, and one for the evening.

If you are getting flickerings of the green screen in the tracking window I would advise you to give either Warren or Wayne an email at NaturalPoin along with your TIR number.

Out of interest what is your PSU wattage? I know that a HOTAS pull more power than most normal joysticks.

Good Luck.

Hi Barred,
first of all, thank you for your replys.
As I wrote, I use filtering, but I set it to the highgest value. I did that beacuse of my shining glasses. It worked fine, but now I have this problem. Now I'm at work, but I'll try your advice as soon as I can go home.
At this time I have no flickerings in the tracking window, the only flickering element is the tracked dot. Maybe is it a reason to send an email to Warren or Wayne...?
I have a 400W PSU and it works fine, but my Cougar worked fine with the previus 300W one.
Now, I WANT to go home to attempt your advice. Unfortunately, I have more six hours at here...

I know that feeling. Try between 50 -150 (I have neverneeded to go higher that 150), normally the light filtering is for more than one light source, but it can include light being reflected off glasses.

The reason I asked about your power supply is that it is one of the things that is the most overlooked. The other thing you also hear is well it worked ok a year ago, and when you ask if there are any changes in that year, you get ' well only the 6800U OC, my new CPU and I have managed to OC by about 8%". So nothing major then

Good Luck.

Huh...!!! I found it! The TIR was too close to the dot. I moved it 20cm back and now it' s PERFECT in every position and for every movement.
