Installation of TrackIR

Hi,
this is my first messagge on this forum.
I've just purchased TrackIR3+ vector expansione and, while waiting to be delivered, I'm reading the manual.
I have a question about the software instllation. Can I install, directly, the downloaded version of the software (4.1.027) without passing from the CD installation (that probably will have a previous versione of the software) or do I necessarily have to install the CD?

You can (and I would advise you do) just use the downloaded software without using the disk at all. In truth my disk has never been in the drive
