USB Conflict?

I have solved the problem!!!!!

I have 4 pairs of USB ports and 6 devices and I seem to have erradicated the conflict by rearranging the peripherals.

It took about 5 attempts but I finally have a configuration where TrackIR runs smoothly again - I have it plugged into a dedicated 1.1 port on the rear, with the dongle on the 2.0 port below it.
