Unreliable?

Post by PeteD »

Im having terrible problems with my IR4.

When I fire it up 99% of the time it tells me that "no devise detected" and refuses to work.

Ive had it working several times now but its so unreliable its going to go in the bin in a minute unless someone can help??????

Thinking about this you may need a bit more info. Im running windows xp.

There is no sign that the system is actually tracking at all.

Ive tried deleting the software and reloading but still no joys, maybe its faulty kit?

At one point when it was working intermittently it appeared to be registering a lot of background stuff.

chill peteD
dont throw it just yet..
1st thing is to check if its installed properly in your hardware settings.go to
control panel/system/then box called Hardware/device manager.
look in USB serial bus controllers.
you should see ..Naturalpoint track ir 4,in there.
if not.. you are better off downloading the latest drivers from naturalpoints website and deleting the drivers you have and reinstalling the new ones..i had to do this 3 or 4 times till it worked ...it is well worth the effort..
is it shakin about all over the place??? this is what mine was doing..try this and post back

This can be a hard problem to sort out. Make sure you email Rick at Naturalpoint's Tech support.

For me, my X-keys causes this problem sometimes It is most likely another USB device that doesn't want to play nice. Try unistalling and then reinstalling them. Also try moving the port your TrackIR is in with and without the software running.

What are your system specs?

Hey PeteD as a long time user of TIR products and also a beta tester you will find lots of help here from the NP team, so relax and let them help you out as im sure they will sort it out for you, TIR units are very reliable so it may just be faulty.
