@ NaturalPoint Devs: TIRMOUSE.EXE focus issue

Post by Teddie »

Mouse Emulation with TIRMOUSE.EXE.

Something's not right here. How can TIRMOUSE.EXE provide mouse emulation within other programs if the TIRMOUSE application requires focus to move the mouse cursor?

Is this a known issue? Is a fix in the works?

Thanks.

The TIR Mouse utility is designed to send cursor movement under in two circumstances :
  • The TrackIR software has focus
  • A game has been started and has focus
Please see the TIR Mouse section in the TrackIR Manual for more information about the utility.

Thanks for the response. But...

My problem is, no matter what game I try using TIRMOUSE with, the TIRMOUSE interface has to have focus in order to move the cursor, which means that the game loses focus, which means I'm not really using TIRMOUSE For the game at all. It does not work in any mouse-look game for me. I'm not sure if I'm explaining that correctly.

Please let me know if you understand what I'm saying.

What games are you trying to use with TIRMouse.EXE? And are you trying with the games in windowed mode?

Windowed or Fullscreen, TIRMouse still requires focus to move the cursor.

Related info: I tried using the Mouse function in the older "Software Version 3.13". This works, but is horrible because I think it is looking for a single dot rather than the vector.... so you can move your head, but I think it is bouncing focus from one reflector of the vector to the next. Bottom line on this info I'm giving about the old software is, the old software does not require focus to move the mouse cursor, whereas the newest software requires focus...

Please let me know what you think.
