Thanks Vincent, I'll give that pause bit a try and see what happens Actually I've already got pause mapped to a button on my Logitech G5 mouse so it should be easy.
Another thing for what it's worth, I tried leaning down and right as opposed to down and left, and it seemed to recenter properly every time when I straightened back up. How's that for odd?
What is happening with the new drivers release?
Re: What is happening with the new drivers release
very odd, I'll see if I can reproduce.
Re: What is happening with the new drivers release
Vincent, just messed a bit more with that "bug" I wrote about. Was finally able to get it to happen bending down to right, I guess my movements are a little different going in that direction making it harder to reproduce.
BUT...
I found another much easier way to reproduce it:
1) Sit in your normal flying position.
2) Center TIR.
3) Look straight down at your lap.
4) Turn your head all the way left (or right) while still looking down.
5) Look back up and forward.
90% of the time when I do this, I end up looking straight at the floor when my view should be straight out the windshield. Sometimes I've even been moved to the back seat! And sometimes I'm looking at white, which is obviously the top of the wing because if I lean forward, the floor comes into view.
FWIW, I'm using the FS2004 Optimized Flight profile.
I don't know anything about it and should keep my mouth shut, but my guess is that TIR is losing track of 1 or 2 reflectors when moving in this manner and this is causing it to lose center, and somehow it is "re-centering" on the last view it had. I would guess it's related to the "true view" addition unless you've made changes to other tracking code.
HTH!

Re: What is happening with the new drivers release
Can you reproduce the issue when you turn off True View in the TrackIR profiles?
Re: What is happening with the new drivers release
To show you how clueless I am, I didn't know you could turn off true view
I was just off to buy the DreamFleet Beech A36, after I get done with that I'll try it out and let you know what I find!
Re: What is happening with the new drivers release
OK, sounds good.
Re: What is happening with the new drivers release
OK Vincent, a followup. Yes I can reproduce the issue after turning off True View in my current profile.
I am certain this is something with the new alpha release (4.1.029 Alpha 2) as I don't remember having any problems like this with 4.1.028. No matter what bizarre head movements I made with the earlier release, it always came back to center flawlessly.
If you like though, I'll put 4.1.028 back on and see if I can duplicate it there.
Have you been able to reproduce it?
Oh, don't know if it matters but this is happening in FS9, 9.1 patch with No-CD. And don't worry, it's a legal copy, I have bought every FS product since FS2 in 1987!!! And I will be buying FSX next week!!

Re: What is happening with the new drivers release
Havent had chances to yet. Been a little busy trying to get the new drivers out today, I did pass on the info to the development team though, will try myself tomorrow.
