Hi,
the 4.1.029a3 version (and the 4.1.029a1) version hang when trying to exit.
When trying to exit, the leds (green and the 4 "tracking" leds) keep lighting and the soft hangs. I have to stop the process manually with the Task-Manager.
I'm using Win2k, SP5.
Didn't have this problem withg 4.1.028.

Does this happen with all applications?
Are you ending the "game" software first then the TrackIR software, or the other way around?
Looking at your task manager, right click on the TrackIR. exe file and tell me what the priority is set to.
In the TrackIR folder, default install C:\Program Files\NaturalPoint\TrackIR4, in the profiles folder. what is the file size for the profiles listed here.

this happens, regardless if I start an application that uses TIR or not, e.g. even when booting up the PC, not starting anything, start TIR and then trying to end TIR.
In any case, I always end the application first, than TIR.
Hmm...I have to check the size, I'm currently not at home.

Priority is normal.
the file-size for the profiles is 2 or 3k each, the overall size is 30k for 16 profiles.

Something similar happenned to me yesterday. TrackIR refused to exit whatever I did, even killing the process from the Task Manager didn't work.
What caused my problem was the firewall. I tried to close the TrackIR window before authorizing or denying the access to the internet (used to check the news, that is ON by default).
Not sure if this is your case, but the symptoms are similar and it's very easy to check that TrackIR is enabled in the firewall (or just close the firewall software).

Yep,
good idea but isn't the case. My TIR is allowed access to the internet, also confirmed access after the update to a3 (using sygate firewall, which checks for changed exes since last access was allowed.). I generally grant "Allowed" to tools like TIR, after the first access attempt.

We are currently working on the issue, among several others, and hope to have more information posted soon.
