Not having much luck.

I don't have any other TrackIR Enhanced games to test with sadly but it seems to be working (Tracking in the software and mouse emulation works fine)

History:

Had TrackIR4 at the latest software/driver level already.
Got and installed FSX.
When that didn't work I got the latest Beta software and that worked fine.

Then after a few days of playing FSX stops working with the error (Can't find/load certain files, please re-install or repair).

Try a reboot and various other options before going for a repair.
That didn't work (got the same errors) so I re-installed.

Now FSX works but isn't seen/seeing TrackIR.

I tried this fix here (deleted the folder as requested) and did a repair, that took me back to square one, FSX cannot find/load certain files please re-install etc.

Doing another total re-install now.

Guessing it's a FSX problem rather than a TrackIR problem...but any advice is welcome (Getting bored of constantly installing FSX though lol)

Thanks anyway, looks like you've solved a few peoples problems with this fix though, great to see you guys on top of it.
I'm sure I'll bodge it through eventually....contemplating a system rebuild over the weekend....

Curse you microsoft :shakes fist:
Trying to find somewhere to get MS support on this without paying for it but they are sending me in circles...

Hmm, ok I've re-set all my security bits and bobs to make sure I'm not blocking anything during the install and I've got one item during the install (at the end of disk 1 before disk 2) that appears was being blocked before by default (winendtoendcleanup), no idea what the heck that is but I'm allowing it through for now to see if that changes anything.

...That fixed it....
Applied your fix a 2nd time but this time with my spybot S&D I allowed this registry change, disabled my firewall and various other tools during the install and now it works fine, only difference is that winendtoendcleanup registry change...meh...

Now I can get back to finishing that Mission!

Okay, I've tried all of the fixes in these threads (deleted the WinSxS folder, searched for any occurance of simconnect.dll and eliminated them, ran the FSX repair, reinstalled FSX, tried the latest beta and final drivers) and still no blue light. I read the Pete Dawson explanation of the possible firewall blocks and went to the site he lists (http://www.fsinsider.com/Community/News ... Or-Not.htm). I am using Microsoft's OneCare and entered the exe files for TrackIR and FSX - still nothing. MS listed the network localhost/127.0.0.1 as their connection. Where would I enter this address in Win XP to not block it? I turned off AntiVirus, Firewall and AntiSpyware but still nothing.
