Hi,

Newbie user here. I cannot get the Key Assignment to change from the default F9. I am using the latest build 29. Also, after I attempt to change the Key assignments the view goes berserk and will not move left. I need reboot to fix it.

I have the FSUIPC registered version and assigning joystick buttons using it has no affect. I can assign the buttons to a Key stroke and ONLY F9 will pause, F7 etc. I can setup the FSX profile to show Joystick 1 and Joystick 2, however only F9 will work. Thanks for any suggestions in advance.

Edit:

I am seeing the same thing as George. The joystick buttons will work as long as the FSX Edit Hotkeys window is open. As soon as I minimize it, I loose the maps. F9 still works.

Hmm, so changing it in the profile to reflect the changes, still doesn't effect it in the game?

Have you tried a clean install of the TrackIR software?

Remove the TrackIR software by doing the following:
a. Click "Start"
b. Click on the "Control Panel"
c. Click "Add/Remove Programs"
d. Find "TrackIR" and click "Change/Remove"
e. Once launched it will give the option to completely remove it.
f. Delete the NaturalPoint folder at the following location, C:\Program Files\NaturalPoint
g. Download and reinstall the software from the following location, http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/06- ... nuals.html

Hi Vincent and thank you for your quick response.

It now works and here is my "blind" approach. Meaning I didn't have a clue what I was doing.

I un-installed Trackir4 and answered no to the backup questions. I also plug the IR Tracker USB thingy into my computer and plugged the joystick USB (CH Yoke) in the provided USB Y thingy. I assume that would have helped the first time? LOL. Re-installed (did not remove any folders) and rebooted. Upon restart of the software, Joystick button 1 and 2 were now the default. And it works fine using my joystick buttons within FSX. It just goes to show that dumb luck and zero knowledge trumps a methodical approach anytime.

Arrg...

Spoke to soon. After I posted success, I went back to start FSX and the same darn thing happened again. I'll try your list of things to do above and see if it works. Thanks.

Edit:

I think I have it stable and consistently working. I checked load the default (flight) profile and set it up with the joystick keys. I was chasing my tail with the FSX profile I guess? I'm now adjusting acceleration with the editor for personal taste. It just goes to show you that a little knowledge and methodical approach trumps dumb luck .... hmmm more than the other one I mentioned. Thanks.
