Hi, I just got TrackIR4 for Xmas and I love it! My only problem right now is that I can't figure out how to look behind me. I set my profile to racing and the heads preview thing shows that I am turning my virtual head all the way around, but in-game I only turn a certain amount (Cross Racing Championship, Richard Burns Rally and rFactor).
How do I set things up to turn my in-game view all the way around (180 degrees)?
How do I look behind?
Re: How do I look behind?
hi
i don't know about cross racing, but RBR and rFactor are restricted to those angles. in GTR2 (ISI engine based as rFactor) those parameter can be changed but i don't knwo where those parameters are in rFactor. they aren't at the same place in the plr as in GTR2.
as for RBR why do you need to look backwards in a rally game? sorry have no idea if you can change it there
edit
ok went through the rFactor files in your controller.ini you should find these lines:
HMD Pitch Exponent="1.00000" // Exponent to apply to pitch tracking. > 1.0 makes tracking near-center slower, > 0 & < 1.0 makes tracking near-center faster.
HMD Yaw Exponent="1.00000" // Exponent to apply to yaw tracking. > 1.0 makes tracking near-center slower, > 0 & < 1.0 makes tracking near-center faster.
HMD Roll Exponent="1.00000" // Exponent to apply to roll tracking. > 1.0 makes tracking near-center slower, > 0 & < 1.0 makes tracking near-center faster.
HMD Left/Right Range="0.15000" // Range to apply to left/right tracking or camera controls (0.5 = max, -0.5 = reversed max)
HMD Up/Down Range="0.15000" // Range to apply to up/down tracking or camera controls (0.5 = max, -0.5 = reversed max)
HMD Fore/Aft Range="0.15000" // Range to apply to fore/aft tracking or camera controls (0.5 = max, -0.5 = reversed max)
Freelook Mouse Pitch Speed="0.00400" // Freelook pitch speed when using mouse.
try to edit the range values. i don't know if it really works but you might want to give it a try, just make backups

Re: How do I look behind?
For the ISI games GTR ect except Race search for TrackIR. Then copy the following over the whole block of TrackIR entries,
TrackIR Pitch Down Limit="-0.15000" // Min: -1.00, Max: 0, Default: -0.15
TrackIR Pitch Up Limit="0.05000" // Min: 0, Max: 1.00, Default: 0.05
TrackIR Yaw Left Limit="-0.90000" // Min: -1.00, Max: 0, Default: -0.40
TrackIR Yaw Right Limit="0.90000" // Min: 0.00, Max: 1.00, Default: 0.40
TrackIR Roll Left Limit="-0.07500" // Min: -1.00, Max: 0.00, Default: -0.075

Good stuff, thanks for the tips....
Re: How do I look behind?
Thanks for the tips- in rFactor I have it working perfectly- Thank you!
For RBR it's not very important at all. If it doesn't work it's no big deal. I was playing RBR today and I have to say that the difference with TrackIr and without is subtle but really nice. It really helps and makes me faster.
For CRC it'd be a huge help. I'll live without it of course, but to be able to look all the way around with CRC would be a huge help.
