Feature Request - Cursor stabilizer

Post by satorigreen »

The gravity option is a nice idea but I wanted to toss something out there as an alternative. I use the Smartnav on my fingers with the rubber ring right now as I find that the fastest and most accurate way to use it and I had an idea.

-Is it possible to make it so that when Smartnav detects that the cursor has slowed to a near stop that it goes into precision mode automatically or just plain pauses the cursor or slows it down to a crawl until it detects the cursor speed up again. It would be nice if when I am using it with my fingers that the cursor would stop jiggling automatically to make it easier to click onscreen buttons and so forth. It would be nice if the cursor paused when it detected that the cursor wasn't moving. It would be cool if the time was adjustable including the time it paused for it would make the Smartnav almost as accurate as a mouse. I find when I zero in on a button or small object that no matter how stable I hold my hand there is an amount of JIGGLE where I am trying to hold the cursor steady. I currently either have the rubber ring on my second finger, middle finger or clenched between my thumb and second finger.

Okay I just turned on precision mode for the first time it works pretty much as I asked for in the above comment. I need to experiment with it but it removed the jiggle. It might be nice to be able to adjust the precision settings a bit though to make it more responsive. Now that I have discovered precision mode I will have to experiment with it a bit.

Update - Yeh precision mode rocks it makes the Smartnav even more accurate to use. All my problems with holding the cursor steady have pretty much gone.
