Most excellent TrackIR setup guide

Post by Slap »

By Charvel, thank you.

http://www.airwarfare.com/guides/tir_setup.htm

At the end of the guide Charvel puts a link to his own personal profile for download; defo worth a try if not to see the ingenious use of curves related to certain axis which is an education in itself.

Thank you very much for pointing this out Slap. I thought I had my TrackIR tuned pretty well but now after seeing this article, which by the way I think should be seen by all TrackIR users, I found that I had missed quite a few things.

Thanks again, Happy New Year, and good flying,

George

P.S. Charvel gets a gold medal for this one!

You're most welcome George

Like yourself, and having gone through the whole TrackIR series, I though I had everything more or less covered until I read through Charvel's guide...Could kick myself for not reading it sooner.
Top show from Charvel and a knighthood awaits him here in London

Happy New Year and good flying to you as well m8

Once again, thanks for this info Slap. I downloaded and installed CharveLs profile. What an unbelievable difference it made to the emersion factor of the sim. Previously, I had fiddled around with the Yaw, Pitch and Roll but left alone the X, Y and Z axis because I didnt think it would make much difference (Ok, Ill admit it, I was lost with these). I had no idea how the changing of those would make such an impact on the feel inside the cockpit. Also, the un-mirroring of each axis helps to make it more life like. I hadnt even tried that. CharveLs profile really opened my eyes to the power of TrackIR.

I think this tutorial should be mandatory reading and everyone should try his profile at least one time to get the real feel of how truly great TrackIR can be!

Thanks again to you and CharveL too!

Im really flying now!

George
