TIR never works after 1st shutdown

Just installed TIR4 with no problems. Worked fine, my profiles set OK on CFS3 and IL2 1946. Trouble is, after shutting the program down, and restarting it, TIR will not track. I get the "no data" on the status/main page and a red LED whenever I hit the F9 key to re-enable.

Did an uninsnstall, and then re-installed: Worked OK again only once, and after a shutdown/restart, it did the same antics again.

What gives?

BTW, the device manager ( Win XP pro ) does recognize the program.
