Flickering/Micro jerking

Post by jnr641802 »

Hi I have noticed recently using Tracker 3 vector expansion that while panning left/right in fs9 that flickering/micro jerkiness seems to have increased making it hard to read instruments without pausing.I have done a search but didn't find anything conclusive.

I only have the 3 green dots in tracking,no hub,I have cleaned the lense and vector clip,unplugged/replugged in the unit etc.I am not totally sure whether this has always been happening and I have just become sensitive to it recently.I have had the unit for approx 3 years

Is it normal for there to be micro jerkiness/flickering or is something amiss.

Any ideas would be appreciated

There should be no jerkyness, or stuttering....

Which version of the TrackIR software are you running?

Made any changes to the software/hardware recently?

Hi Vincent,I uninstalled Trackir/ reinstalled latest software and the lack of smoothness is still there.

As I slowly pan left to right in fs9 the instruments and dials rapidly flicker light/dim (I increased video card brightness which slightly lessens the effect) and there is a 'grittiness' in the panning movement.

Maybe I need to see Chiropractor....

Anything else I can try?

Thanks for your help

Hi Vincent ,Trackir is still useable although not as good as it was.I can live with it.

Hopefully it will just cease working and I can then justify getting Trackir 4 although there is always the risk that it won't fix the problem.

Thanks for the assistance

Hi Vincent,I don't 'fly' anymore, just test Trackir all the time.... its got to stop, its doing my head in !!!

I have reinstalled with latest software
Tried different usb ports(not using hub)
Cleaned lense/vector clip
No light interference
Renamed fs9.cfg let it rebuild, new .cfg but no change
Tried various video card settings
Greatly lowered/changed fs9 settings
System runs cool with side off + 7" fan
Defragged etc

If I pan left/right at normal speed it does so in micro jerks,If I pan ultra slowly its fine ,or if I pan very quickly it is fine as you don't see the jerks.

p4 3.4/2gb/7950 gt/650 watt/xp home.

After using Trackir for 2-3 years ,using The Hat switch is no longer an option.

Any final ideas/help would be much appreciated.
