TIR4 ERROR: This Device Can Perform Faster

Post by AsRock+SD »

Some times the device does not start up when software is ran ( Very Rare). BUT when it does it i get this message

This Device Can Perform Faster

This USB device can perform faster if you connect it to a Hi-Speed 2.0 port.

Well as far as i know all ports on this mobo are 2.0 and all drivers are upto date as well. I never got this with TIR3.

My Setup
SLI | AMD 3800+ X2 | Corsair 2gig XMS | HIS HD2900XT | 2xWDKS250gig 16 meg Raid 0 | WD160gig 8 meg | Liteon163 DVD | GCE-8400B (8meg) | CDRW Samsung DVDRW | Samsung 204B TFT | COOLMAX "SLI" CXI-600B | XP Pro X64 Edition | CASE CHENMING CMUI-P blk (Modded)| TIR4 | Onkyo Amp |

It is an error that the motherboard USB chipset is detecting the TrackIR slightly different.

You can just ignore the message

I get this same error on an otherwise good running DFI Lanparty UT Expert every time I connect the device. I'm also getting the problem where the divice does not initialize. A reconnect fixes that but it's a hassle to crawl under the desk and unplug and reconnect.

Have you tried turn off any kind of power save feature for your USB ports?

In the "Device Manager" you can right click the "USB Root Hub"(s), that show, and then select properties. On the power management tab, uncheck the box that allows the computer to turn off the USB port to save power (i.e. uncheck the box). Sometimes that has an impact on the connectivity of the devices.

i all ways turn off the power saving on USB devices and still get my problem and what JKramer is talking about.

So the TIR 4 does not need the speed of a 2.0 USB ?..

It is just a reporting error, in the way the TrackIR is detected......

All that the TrackIR4 requires is 1.1
