Still the same issues, i installed the drivers, rebooted, turned the computer off, plugged in the unit, turned on the computer, windows reconized the tir4, installed the tir4 drivers, rebooted again just to be sure, clicked on the tir icon and the same problem. what could cause this? has the unit become faulty all by itself?

As an act of good faith will naturalpoint be looking into my problem, I know i have had the unit for 14 months which by my calculations is 2 months over the expirey date. But i would have expected a longer life span than 14 months. It had been working perfectly aswell i might add. To look at the unit it still looks brandnew.

I wouldnt think a product 2 months out of warranty should become faulty. Im sure you would expect your products to last longer than 12 months. For a product that doesnt suffer any wear or tear im very concerned. So could you please re-interate on what 'ouch.....' means.

Well, unfortunately it is outside of the 1 year warranty period, and my hands are fairly tied in regards to it. It looks like it might be some type of firmware chip, which has had a hardware failure, and unfortunately sometimes that happens.
