Calibration problem

Post by Jim_Light »

I am a new user and I have 12 cameras set up on a trust
17ft x 13ft x 13 ft

I use 12 V100 cameras, 6 tripods, sync cables.

4 at the top corners, 4 at the corners about 4 ft from the ground
and 4 in the middle of the top beams.

Image

in the middle of the area I used a tripod with the wand
initially to align the cameras

We then lay on our back holding up the wand and move the wand in circular springs moving across the floor
then go to our knees, the semi standing so the wand
is always over our head but never occluded by the body

I've collected frames at High and Slow and tried
500, 1000, 10000 points in the next step

However it constantly says
"only (0-15) points survived, not enough for selfcalibration"
and forces me to redo all the steps.

We tried about 10 times and cannot figure out what is going wrong.

Is the space too large?
Is there another method to do 12 cameras

That capture volume size should definitely work with 12 cameras.

Can you send screen shots of the software, during each calibration page............

What type of system are you using?

There probably isn't enough overlap in the camera's views. You can try aiming all of your cameras toward approximately same position. I usually put a tripod at the center of capture volume, enable greyscale view and aim the cameras until they are pointing toward a same position of the tripod.
