Vista User Account Control

Post by breyn22 »

I'm running Vista Home Premium 64-bit. Not sure what I did, but recently during OS startup, I get a user account control popup for authorization for TrackIR to load up. I double-checked and the trackir exe is set to "run as administrator".

This is quite annoying, since it pauses startup until you click on "accept" and then everything will finish loading as normal.

Any idea what my problem could be?

I'm on 4.1 build 30, TrackIR 3pro with vector.

That is a feature of Vista, when running anything as an admin. You can do several things to stop it from doing this.......

1 - Uncheck the option to run as an admin.

2 - Turn off UAC -

Ok, I've already unchecked the "run as admin" box and applied the setting, yet it still does the same thing.

Take the TrackIR shortcut out of the start-up folder?

Hmm, it doesn't show in my startup folder. I may just have to live with this problem until my next OS reinstall (should be soon, getting a new HD eventually).
