My Head Shakes Also!
My Head Shakes Also!
Hello:
I am experiencing jerkiness using TRACK IR in FS9. I am using the FS2004 optimized profile from the Natural Point website. I am using the trackclip-PRO on headphones. I am only seeing 3 green dots on the preview.
When I look straight ahead everything is fine, but as soon as I turn my head right or left the shakiness gets worse. The cockpit and outside view jump like crazy.
I have also experienced several crashes of the TRACK IR software. I get a popup message that says "Track IR has encountered a problem and needs to close..." The file that seems to be the problem is cameradll.dll.
Thanks for any help or suggestions!

Re: My Head Shakes Also!
Some feedback:
I just tried TRACK IR in FSX and there is no shaking! I am still playing around with it at this time.
I went back to FS9 and the shaking came back. I now tried to uncheck everything for Active Camera and there is no shaking in FS9! The only problem I appear to have now is that when I turn my head to the right the sim head seems to bounce all over! Turning to the left is no problem. I am not sure how to fix this problem yet!

Re: My Head Shakes Also!
Flyman,
If your track clip pro is attached to the right side of your headset, move the TrackIR receiver to the right hand side of your monitor. Reverse if it is attached to headset left side.
Hope this helps,
Stu

Hi Stu:
I have my receiver on the left side of my monitor and the track clip is on the left side of my headset. I might try switching both to the right side just to see if it makes any difference.
Thanks for your suggestion!

Re: My Head Shakes Also!
No, the TrackClip Pro is designed only to be mounted on the left side of the headset.
Make sure that the long part of the clip is on the both, and fairly vertical on the tracking screen, no red.

Vincent:
OK, I have the clip on the left side and no red.
Another update:
Another problem I am having is the pausing. When I turn my head the image pauses for a second and then continues; very annoying. I found the file that caused track IR to crash. It is cameradll.dll and it is in the track IR directory.
Thanks!

Re: My Head Shakes Also!
What do you have the smoothing set to , within the different profiles?
When it pauses, looking at the tracking screen, is it loosing track of the green dots?

Vincent:
I have smoothing set to 90. I have noticed that during pauses the green dots stop moving and the head view pauses when I move my head.

Re: My Head Shakes Also!
The smoothing is a little high, try decreasing the spped to 30.
Re: My Head Shakes Also!
I'd try in another USB port too, some are flakey or don't provide enough power for some hardware.
