We are pleased to announce a new release of the ARENA / ARENA Expression software. Version 1.4.000 alpha 1 is now available for download.

Wow!

I really like this release... The changes you made during the camera calibration will be very helpful, the green squares around each camera window which let you know that the dot is in view, and a capture volume estimation that actually works. Until this release, I usually skip that part because it really never showed me a volume. Now it actually does and it is very helpful.

One thing I did notice, during gap filling... this process used to be much quicker. At first, I though Arena had frozen up and I exited out, but after testing a few more takes... I realized that the process was just taking much longer... For a 5600 frame take.. several minutes?

In general, everything was improved... great work!

Thanks trying out the new release, we're glad you like the improvements so far. If you can send us the take that took a long time to gap fill, we'll take a look at it in both 1.4 and 1.3 (I'm guessing your comparison reference was 1.3.035?).

Hey...

finally an update...and apparentyl a nice one...Havent tried it myself..i have one question...is the USB dongle REQUIRED in order to use this update?? Or can i still use my software license??

No, the dongle is not required for the update. You need the dongle for working on a different computer without the cameras.

Feedback about the 1.4 Alpha release has been positive, we are moving it to Beta with minor changes and improvements. We encourage users who installed the Alpha release to upgrade, and look forward to hearing your feedback about the release.
