Motionbuilder plug-in

Post by cjmarkham »

Has anyone been able to successfully RECORD (in Motionbuilder) the marker data that streams from Arena via the Motionbuilder plug-in?

I see a recording function in both the OptiTrack (device) interface and in Motionbuilders interface, but I can't seem to get either of them to actually record any data.

Can someone from NaturalPoint please help me sort this out, or actually make this feature available.

CJ:

Yes, you should be able to record, we support that. I will ask someone with more direct experience in this area to help out.

I'm having trouble with this too, in MB7.5 trying to record a couple of rigid-bodies (9 markers) as a test via Arena but MB won't record. Also "Update optical" does not work properly, instead 9 more markers under created my optical root when utilized.

Preferbly would like to use MB2009 but cannot load plugin in that version.

Thanks,

Hey guys,

This is also documented in the MB plugin User's Guide (html file) that installs with the plugin. If the documented procedure is not working for you let us know and we can investigate further.

MB2009 support should be avaiable soon as well.

Hi, I have a question: it is possible to stream to maya? or you can only stream to motionbuilder?

In the case of a character's face, in order to stream the data to that face and previz the expressions, must the face be rigged inside motionbuilder?

We currently only stream facial marker data into MotionBuilder.

To visualize in MotionBuilder you can either:

1. Use MotionBuilder's built-in Actor face. See the MotionBuilder help for more info on this.

2. Use a pre-built head rig. Suitable for a games pipeline. See our MotionBuilder Expression goody pack demo ( http://www.naturalpoint.com/optitrack/d ... ssion.html )

3. Roll your own custom solution. This is what most of the pros do.
