Hello. I'm reporting what appears to be a "blindspot" in the TrackIR software when using the TrackClip Pro. I have the new TrackIR 5, although I experienced the very same issue with the TrackIR 4 (I actually hoped that the new TrackIR would resolve the issue).
So basically what happens is that when I turn my head about 20 degrees to the left, a blindspot occurs in the tracking software which reports "no data" even though the sensor is obviously perceiving the dots. For that reason, plus the fact that I experienced the problem with two different TrackIR models, leads me to believe that this is a software issue. I took the liberty of creating an animated GIF which illustrates the issue. I do hope this can be resolved through some sort of update because being unable to smoothly look left in games is frankly not acceptable.

Re: TrackIR blindspot
I had the same problem till i went into the tracking screen and hit the settings button, then change your light filtering to a lower number.

Thanks for the detailed report, Derek. We'll take a look at this and see if we can reproduce it. In the meantime:
- Have you tested with the new 5.0 software? If so, does the problem show up in it as well?
- When using the TrackClip PRO, do you have the TrackIR positioned on the left side of your monitor?
- Have you tried Futebant's suggestion?

Re: TrackIR blindspot
I generally don't like to use beta drivers but I decided to give them a try. Unfortunately my testing ended there because my TrackIR will no longer track anything. I even rolled back to the v4 drivers but the problem persists. If I ever manage to get tracking working again I'll try out the light filtering idea. Thanks for the idea Futebant.
Re: TrackIR blindspot
I have good news, my TrackIR sprung back to life today so I was able to resume testing. The first thing I tried was lowering the light filtering value in the v4 software, but didn't have any success resolving the issue that way (thanks for the suggestion anyway). So then I decided to give the beta v5 software another try and I gotta say, the difference is night and day. I couldn't find a single flaw with the tracking in the new software, it's perfect.
I don't know if your dev team intentionally fixed the tracking issues in the new version but if anyone else is experiencing the issue in my original post I strongly suggest upgrading to the v5 software. Besides the unusual occurance where my TrackIR stopped working earlier, I can happily report I'm now free of issues. Thanks for everyone's help.

Re: TrackIR blindspot
There are some improvements in how 5.0 processes tracking data. Glad it's working for you now.
