SmartNav vs TrackIR

Can you use SmartNav on the same unit ... to better explain, if I ordered TrackIR 3D Pro and use v4 software, can I download smartnav software and also install it, and use one at a time? Smartnav for apps and trackir for games?

You can download the SmartNAV sofware (I have done), and you can install it (I�ve done), and you can execute it (I�v done)....., but it will prompt a windows saying that u don�t have the SmartNAV hardware (I have seen)....., and the program will close (was closed for me)....., so you can�t use SmartNAV software without SmartNAV hardware.

Sorry. It is possible that TrackIR and SmartNAV hardware are the same, but with bios, firmware, or something like this that inform the software what have you bought.

It works the other way around, SmartNAV can use TIR software, but TIR can't use SmartNAV.

Hello,

I just received my TrackIr3 Pro. After installing the software, I plugged in the Track Ir. I received the new hardware found message and followed the on screen instructions.

I'm trying to use the new device, but every time I click on the icon that was installed on my desktop, I get a message saying " A Track Ir was detected, this software only works with SmartNav. "

While this message is displayed on my desktop, all the led lights on my track ir are lit. When I click the ok tab, all the lights go off.

How do I open the control panel so I can use my track Ir?

Hello:

Quick answer. We shipped a few units out with the wrong software on the CD, yet the CD printed image will look correct. Can you please download the TrackIR software, that will fix it. Sorry to have caused this.

Thats exactly what happened. I was reading the manual and it refered to a trackIR icon on the desktop, not a smartnav icon.

Then I checked the disk and my HD and found no reference to Track Ir.

I have since d'loaded the latest driver for trackir3 pro and am up and running.
