Hi,
I've been using a trackir V4 for around 7 months now using the trackclip pro and usually run with the z axis disabled since it seems the most troublesome.
I started turning it back on recently and wondered why if I wear the trackclip on the right hand side of my head that the the view zooms in if I look left and zooms in if I look right.
I figured that because the trackclip is about 7 inches from the center of my head, that the software does not take this into account and assumes that the rotational and translational orientation of my view corresponds with that of the trackclip (which it does not).
I don't know if there is any built in assumptions about how you are supposed to wear it and what side of the face its supposed to be on. If so can you briefly go over this?.
So far I am having best results with orienting the trackclip so that it is at the top of my forehead and this way at least the cross coupling of movement is symmetrical.
Thanks in advance
Track Clip Pro 6DOF questions
Re: Track Clip Pro 6DOF questions
Yes, the software takes into consideration tha relationship of the clip LEDs, and how they then should respond in the software.
The TrackClip Pro is designed to be used on the left side of the headset, with the camera moved to the left side of your monitor, and the longer leg of the clip should be on the bottom.

From the camera view the IR objects should be failrly vertical, with the middle LED slightly off-set
