Just to round this up: I received my new unit on Saturday (VERY well done - BEFORE the weekend! ;) ) and early checks showed just the three dots in the camera view - no "subs" whatsoever.....

Thorough checks "inflight" still need to be performed - but I am pretty confindent!
Thanks again for your support. I would have had a hard time, to verify "faulty parts or not" without your help! :)

I definitely DO!

Oh btw a question: does running the TIR/-software put any substatial burden on the system? When "flying" yesterday (TIR worked flawlessly), I experienced quite a load/lag on the system.
I do not think (and cannot imagine) that that might have come from the new TIR (the more as everything was smooth with the one before), so I think this was more because my notebook had lots of "things" to update/run after it was not in use for a couple of days.... Just wanted to ask the pro's!

Are you running the TrackIR minimized, or do you have it on the desktop, at the same time as the gaming application?

Do you have any other applications running by the clock, on the taskbar?

Other apps running are my antivirus, software for my joystick and printer-connection.
But Vista has a ton of other services and progs running in the background..... (So you never know...)

The v5-software usually minimizes to tray (itself) after I start and "configurate" the TIR and start a flight sim afterwards...
I quite like this feature!
After ending the flightsim, I just need to doubleclick on the icon in the tray to open and then fully close it down. (It this intentionally or sth. others consider a bug? :) )

I guess, I will test a little more this evening. But I think the "bumps" in the game was more from some other update (like tv-card looking for most current broadcast or sth.) - I guess it will be gone then...

Oh, in the TIR5-support I just read that the software has to be minimized before running the sim. (Otherwise bad influence on settings of the graphics card and performance.)

So, IF the "automatic mimimize to tray" is supposed to work like that, I can be happy that it DOES work with me already!
I'll keep in mind to do that manually should I encounter problems...
