V5 Software with Track IR4?

Can I expect smoother results if I use the Version 5 software with the Track IR4 Pro?

Part of the added smoothing, is the hardware difference between the TrackIR 5, and the TrackIR 4.

As Vincent notes, the vast majority of TrackIR 5's superiority is hardware derived. But, TrackIR software version 5.0 does utilize our new Spurious Marker Rejection technology, which helps filter out unwanted background light. It certainly won't put TrackIR 4 hardware on par with 5, but it should offer a bit better tracking experience if you have some small background light sources in your camera's view. I would definitely recommend giving it a shot with your TrackIR 4 hardware!

I use the Track IR5 software with my Track IR4 Pro, and have noticed this as well - my room gets a little unwanted background light and I seem to be able to filter that out better now. At least until I upgrade to TIR5 when I will get the hardware side of it as well ...
