User Account Control (UAC)

In Windows Vista when the window is the User Account Control (UAC)
"Check whether you are a home user that the operation"
The SmartNav 3.2 shall be temporarily blocked and you can only continue / cancel a conventional mouse

Yes we have seen this issue, as Vista is loading the UAC screen on a permission level outside of Windows.

Currently the only remedy is to disable UAC message

Is this an issue with Windows 7 as well?

UAC is done differently in Windows 7

Can I use my SmartNav 3 with Windows 7? Hope so, I already ordered the upgrade. :)

Yes, every program that goes thru & is active, SmartNav won't work. You just have to turn UAC off somehow.

1.10 : Why does the SmartNav stop responding in Vista/Windows 7 when trying to install applications or perform OS Administration tasks?

This issue is caused by the computer's operating system changing into a different permission level, where the SmartNav is not accessible. You can bypass the issue by following the steps listed below.

Disable and Turnoff UAC in Windows 7 from Control Panel

1. Access User Control Panel from Start Menu -> Control Panel -> User Accounts and Family Safety -> User Account

2. Click on User Account Control settings link

3. Move the Slider to Never Notify

4. Click OK to make the change effective

5. Reboot
