Hi there.
I've been try out the TrackIR 4. I've got the latest drivers, it's installed and operating okay. I've tried it on FSX and IL2-FB.
Unfortunately, I'm not overly impressed by its performance.
In IL2, the head position too often flips to a full-up view and a full-down view and therefore requires a frequent use of the F12 button to re-centre the view. Not much chop for successful combat.
IN FSX, the head movement generally varies in its smoothness depending on altitude. At low altitude bush flying it's really heavy/sticky - not so at higher altitudes. This means at one minute Im looking around fine, the next Im fighting the software to change my view.
I've been using in a darkened room, so there's no external light sources interfering with the sensors. I've experimented with the profiles, but I don't really get much of an improvement. I'd wanted to purchase the latest version, but it looks like Id blow my money by my experiences so far.
Can anyone make some suggestions to solve these problems?
Cheers,
Matthew.
Performance Issues
Re: Performance Issues
When looking at the camera view (View -> Tracking)are the 3 tracking points centered?
Are you using the TrackClip, or the TrackClip Pro?
No other points being tracked in the camera view?

Hi there.
The three tracking points are centered.
I'm using the TrackClip. Not the TrackClip Pro.
Not sure what you mean by the third question.
I see your from Corvallis OR. Just finished a product that modeled your town for FSX. Not too bad a rendering for generic landlclass, but really needs PR.
Cheers,
Matthew.

Re: Performance Issues
When looking at the camera view, within the software, do you see more than the 3 green points?
Any red, or gray?

Re: Performance Issues
Hi Vincent.
Normally, it's one green and two whites. I've only noticed a grey during the day with a lot of light reflection about, but that's when it's being used.
Cheers,
Matthew.
