V100 Camera repair question

Post by filmcraft »

I was setting up my unit today and couldn't get them all to sync until I figured out that one camera In the sync chain has a broken mini plug inside the camera, it looks like it detached from the circuit board. I was wondering if I could just open up the camera and re solder the mini plug back to the board, and how do I go about opening the camera, I know there are 4 on the side and 4 on top, but does the lens unscrew off completely, or is there another way to do it?

Yes the lens does oncrew completely from the camera. Depending on the model, it can have a set screw, to lock it into place.

It's a v100, does the lens unscrew turning left? It seems to stop at a certain point, does it need to be forced? It seems to be the focus ring, it rotates about 45 degrees then stops. There is not set screw visible, other then the 4 on top that hold in the LEDs

I don't want to risk breaking it, how much would it cost to repair? Ilooks like the mini plug just needs to be re solder from look looks of it outside.

With min. repair fee, you would be looking at $100, plus shipping
