dull / dead IR emmitters

Post by ProjectPalitoy »

I have 12 cameras. But looking at them today, i notice that of the 12, 5 of them have clusters of very dull or dead LED emitters?

What gives? They are not under powered, I looked into this already. Anyone else notice this?

Unfortunately, sometimes an IR led will fail, and since they are built in groups of 2, they fail in pairs.

Craig:

The LEDs on the rings can degrade with time, they are very powerful, and they can age. As Vince says, this happens in pairs because two are wired in series. This is the same thing with almost all lighting. Even TVs are rated at 1/2 their brightness over an 8 year period.

That being said, we can individually replace the LED rings. Please contact Vince at support and we will figure out the best way to do that for you.
