TrackIR 5 software error when starting

Post by Garfield »

Hi guys,

today I bought TrackIR 5 with TrackClip PRO.
So at first i downloaded TrackIR software from the homepage: V5.1 beta 03

I've Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit running on my computer.

Installation worked fine, except Windows-Securitycenter told me the driver wouldn't be certified, but i told him to install anyway, what he did.

Then i wanted to start TrackIR v5 but instead of programm an error-message appeard:
LoadLibrary failed with error 193: %1 is not a certified Win32-application.
Tried to reinstall the software again and used the "run as administrator" way as well... no change..

So I tried version 5 Final B, same error massage here!

So I downloaded Version 4.1.038 beta 04 and installed it the same way.
It's working!
Tried it allready in Flight Simulator 2004, works without problems on first view.

What do I have to do to get Version 5 running?

By the way: What are the major approvements in version 5 against version 4?

Thanks for your help in advance ;)

Greetings

That is an error message I haven't seen before.

Are you logged into the system as an admin, or standard user?

Do you have any firewall/antivirus software installed and running?

I'm logged into the system standartly as an admin.

I just have Avira Antivir installed and running as antivir software; firewall is the standart windows firewall, running as well...

I find it very strange that version 4 is working but version 5 doesn't want to run....

Any ideas what to do?

What happens if you create a new user log in, then try running the 5.x software?

So i created a standard user log in and switched over to it; the 5.x software was already installed but when i tried to start it, same error message appeard...

Then i took a notebook, as well with Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit and downloaded & installed the 5.x software.

It runs... Then i took an USB-stick and copied the TrackIR 5 folder from the C:/..../programms folder to my computer over here and overwrote everything

Error message still appears!

Running the application from the USB stick, or from within the TrackIR 5 folder?

Have got bad and goooooooooooood news =)

Bad one first:P Application didn't start from USB stick either..

And now the goood one:

Application is running now:):) after 3 hours google-ing and system report reading:P

Short way to success:

1. I searched the error message in google.... I read all the links up to page 4.... nasty!

2. I started "process monitor" its an application from Microsoft which shows you all actions a special process in this case trackir5.exe is doing.... ie which .dll it is loading and so on

So I logged the events from clicking onto the .exe until error message came up.... 10k events... nasty again!

3. I looked which .dlls had been loaded from application short before error message came up...

Randomly I saw a .dll named atioglxx.dll being loaded short before crash and remembered to read about this .dll in one of the forums in which I searched the error message..

So I looked up the AMD-Game forum and one member reported that he had the same error message but fixed the it by replaacing the atioflxx.dll in path "C:/Windows/SysWOW64/"

4. So I looked up the .dll in the path written above and saw it has 0kb!

5. I looked up the file on my parents notebook and there it has about 8000 kb, so i copied it to USB and replaced it with my one.

6. Started the programm again and a new error message came up, so I had to be on the right path..

7. Downloaded new version of the .dll in the web and replaced it again...

And now its working!

So all in all a little bit luck and random;)

Thanks for your help anyway!

How to fix a TrackIR 5 error via an ATI settings change
by Mark Murrin Topic: Flight Simulators | Flight-Stew | FSX | How-To | HowTo-Software | Software
I have a TrackIR device which I use primarily with Flight Simulator X, and ran into an issue out of the blue. Nothing was changed on my system and it was running fine previously, using version 5.1 of the software. Suddenly when TrackIR would load it would simply say "error" in a dialogue box and then close. To get past this error I discovered that the checkbox under OpenGL Settings called "Triple Buffering" was causing the issue. Simply un-checking the box has made the error go away.

We have a version that we are testing now regarding the triple buffering/vsync issues with OpenGL and ATI/AMD video cards.

http://media.naturalpoint.com/ftp/npupl ... -TB-VS.exe

If you download that and put it in your TrackIR installation folder then run it, it has been having quite a bit of success in getting past the error/crash on ATI/AMD systems.
